Ways to Contribute:

  • Monthly Contributions: Sign up for a debit order. Contributions are 18A tax-deductible.
  • Woolworths My School/My Village/My Planet Card: Add the TBF as a beneficiary, either in-store or online.
  • Direct Donations: Make a one-time contribution to the TBF’s bank account. Contributions are 18A tax-deductible.
  • Attend Fundraising Shows: Buy tickets to shows donated by supportive theatre managements.
  • Donate a Show: Contact us to arrange a special performance in support of the TBF.
  • Join Our Social Media: Follow us on Facebook and Instagram for updates and events.
  • Donate Sales Proceeds: Donate a percentage of box office proceeds, CD/DVD/book sales, or artwork sales to the TBF.
  • Promote at Events: Promote the TBF at your events and performances. Collect donations from the audience and deposit them into the TBF bank account.

Financial Information – The Theatre Benevolent Fund (TBF) receives no subsidies and relies solely on the following sources of income:

  • Voluntary Contributions: Donations from workers in the entertainment industry and sympathetic members of the public.
  • Fundraising Projects: Initiatives by supportive theatre managements, such as gala performances or special events by performing artists.
  • Bequests and Donations: Contributions from wills and other direct donations.

Financial Oversight:

  • Treasurer: The TBF Treasurer is an EXCO board member and a registered financial advisor.
  • Transparency: The TBF’s financial records are open to public investigation and are audited annually by PJ Botes and Associates, an accounting firm that has been auditing the TBF’s books for the past decade.
  • Cost Efficiency: Logistical, operational, and publicity material costs account for only 9% of the annual budget. All other funds are directly used to support beneficiaries.
